20. Okinawa Lantern

The Okinawa lantern was a gift of the Ryukyu Government Administrative Chairman in honor of the centennial of Gannenmono in 1968.

Vandals pushed this lantern over several times breaking the firebox. The stone lantern was restored in 2018 with pieces from an unknown location lantern that were dredged out of the pond in 1964.

Restoration of lanterns and other historical elements of Liliʻuokalani Gardens are part of the mission of Friends of Liliʻuokalani Gardens. Donnations help to keep the Garden beautiful.
